He also said that he would vote to enter the EU now but only under the same conditions that we have now.

All I've heard from the remain side is that the world as we know will end if we leave. No one seems to be asking the question; If we were voting to join the EU today, what do they have to offer that we can't provide ourselves?
The more shrill the remain camp becomes, the more I am convinced that we are better off out. I am the last person to normally question the natural order of things but for the first time I am suddenly aware that we are all being played by the political and business establishment. Predictions of recession, war, social collapse and all the rest are simply laughable.

Norway and Switzerland may allow EU workers in because they find it difficult to attract people to go there although they are very nice wealthy countries.
Most countries want to attract those young employees who are single or young couples without family and able to travel abroad to work and many of these would find those countries boring as hell. Those young couples who go with the intention of setting up a new life and starting a family will find both have very cold climates not ideal for raising young children outdoors for a start, skiing apart.
London, Paris, Barcelona, Rome on the other hand having so much to offer probably don't have to do too much to attract these people, therefore can afford to be more choosy. Yes the UK needs surgeons, nurses, teachers and more qualified experienced bricklayers, but do we really need a wave of unskilled building or other labourers, cleaners and taxi drivers when we have 1.69 million officially unemployed and actively looking for work?
A points system similar to the Australian system has been advocated to provide the UK with controlled rather than uncontrolled immigration and although no system is perfect their system with controls seems to work much better for them than our current system of an open door free for all policy.

Me, I was 60/40 in favour of in, now it's 90/10. The thought of the likes of Boris and his mates being able to chip away and eventually deconstruct all the workers rights we have gained due to the e.u puts me right off I must say.

Thats exactly what Cameron got for us in the last amendment.
If you come here you have a limited period to get a job and you cant claim benefits for four years.

Surely if we went down the Norway, Switzerland route we could accept the free movement but not provide benefits or any housing ie sort yourself out if you want to live here. That would take a lot of the incentive to move here away.
